Overview

Quote + Link Clipper is a local-first Chrome extension for saving selected text, page links, and short personal notes while browsing.

This extension is designed to work without an account, without remote sync, and without background crawling.

What Data The Extension Handles

When you use Quote + Link Clipper, the extension may handle:

• the current page title
• the current page URL
• selected text from the current page
• notes you type into the extension
• capture metadata such as pinned state and last-opened time

How Data Is Used

The extension uses this information only to support its single purpose:

• save quotes, links, and notes
• help you search and revisit saved captures
• let you open the original source again
• let you export your saved data as JSON or Markdown

Where Data Is Stored

Saved captures are stored locally in chrome.storage.local on your device.

No Remote Sync

No remote sync is used. The extension does not send your saved captures to a backend server controlled by the developer.

No Background Crawling

The extension does not crawl websites in the background. It only reads page title, URL, or selected text when you explicitly trigger the popup, shortcut, or context-menu action.

Exports

If you choose to export your data, the extension uses Chrome's download capability to create a local file on your device. Exported files are created only when you explicitly request an export.

Data Sharing

The developer does not sell, rent, or broker your data. The extension does not share your saved captures with third parties, except when required by law.

Third-Party Services

Quote + Link Clipper does not require an account and does not use a remote analytics or sync service for capture storage.

The extension may be distributed through third-party platforms such as GitHub or the Chrome Web Store, but your locally saved captures are not uploaded there by the extension.

Your Choices

• delete captures from the extension UI
• remove the extension from Chrome
• clear extension storage through Chrome
• export your saved data before removing the extension
